VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer alone.
Can volunteer as young as age 16, but must have a parent/legal guardian volunteering with you at all times, through age 17.
Must have a completed Volunteer Application turned into the facility.
Must complete a one and a half hour orientation with our Shelter Coordinator.
If you are unable to download the above application, please feel free to email our Shelter Coordinator to get an application or stop by the facility during our regular business hours.
THE PROCESS:
Once an application has been completed and turned in to the facility, our Shelter Coordinator will contact you to set up a time to do your orientation.
After you have completed the orientation, you are free to come in in during our regular, weekday hours.
At this time we do not have volunteer hours available on the weekends!
What do volunteers do?
Every person has different strengths and we often have different needs in the facility. We try hard to match the current needs of the facility with the strengths of each individual.
Some of the volunteers will walk and socialize the animals, others will clean kennels, animal bowls, cat boxes, or help with laundry. At times, we will need help with cleaning, weeding or planting flower beds outside.
We also have times where we will need help bathing animals or assisting the staff with various duties.
All volunteers are asked to help with fundraisers whenever possible.
