Have you found a stray? Read below for tips and steps to follow if you have found a stray pet!
The Basics
If you’ve found a stray pet, there’s a few things you should do first.
-Don’t approach the animal if it is acting aggressive towards you! Always be safe!
-Take a good, clear photo of the animal if possible. You can use this to make a found report on things like Indy Lost Pet Alert, Nextdoor, Paw Boost, or Facebook.
-If possible, take the animal to a local shelter or vet clinic to be scanned for a microchip.
-If you aren’t able to contain the animal and you are in Johnson County, call dispatch at 317-346-6336.
